Meile

Meile is the sole property of MathNodes L.L.C and is distributed as Open Source software under the GPL 3.0 license. Forthwith, no commercial use of the software is to be used without our consent.

Data Collected

Meile stores minimal data when users interact with the application. The only data stored by the app, without purchasing tokens, is a ping upon connection to a dVPN, that includes the following information:

  • UUID (meile unique ID of app)
  • IP Address (for Geolocation of our users)
  • OS Flag (W, L, M)
  • Timestamp

No other data is shared via Meile to the MathNodes L.L.C. servers. Once a ping is received by our API server, the above data is used to find a relative location of the ping request using the MaxMind GEO IP database. Immediately after this lookup is ran the IP address is scrubbed forever from the database. We are collecting this GEO information to understand where to locate our infrastructure to serve the largest userbases.

The OS flag is a simple one character entry. This enables us to identify what percent of our users are using what operating systems. This data metric will allow to prioritize releases for these operating systems.

The UUID is a non-identifying unique ID of the Meile app. This allows us to filter out multiple pings with the same UUID. It has no identifiable information about it. The timestamp is automatically collected by the API and is used to gain an understanding of the peak hours of session creations for our users.

We store no identifiable information on our users and in fact every last line of data that we have collected is completely available on Metabase in the Meile Databases available for anyone to see. We are transparent about our collections so nobody is left in the dark about their data.

Requests to delete any data based on UUID should be submitted to support [at] mathnodes.com and please allow up to 1 month for us to scrub the database based on your apps UUID. The UUID can be found in $HOME/.meile-gui/config.ini

Purchasing dVPN Tokens through Meile

All purchasing is handled via Stripe and their services. MathNodes L.L.C. or the Meile application does not store any credit card information entered within the app. All data is collected by Stripe and transmitted via their services. The information collected by Meile and MathNodes L.L.C. via a Stripe payment is only used in the case of disputes. The collected data is as follows:

  • Stripe TxID
  • DVPN Wallet Address of Purchaser
  • Timestamp
  • TX ID of Blockchain transfer
  • IP Address of purchaser

No other data is transmitted or stored within our servers

Refunds

Under no circumstances will refunds be issued on our end. All sales of the dVPN token are final and herewithin indisputable. If there is an issue of a charged credit statement without a transfer of tokens to the user’s wallet address, it is mandatory that the user experiencing the difficulties work with the MathNodes team in understanding the discrepancy. The burden of proof will reside with the sole purchaser of the dVPN token and MathNodes L.L.C. takes no responsibility for lost funds.
